Reed Hall Pond

Kompas Exeter Instagram feed (15 June 2016)

It’s easy to fall in love with the eye-poppingly colourful gardens of Reed Hall, the botanical crown jewel of Exeter Uni’s Streatham campus. The Grounds team here have their work cut out caring for acres of trees, flowers and wildlife (as well as keeping up an impressive Instagram feed…) yet somehow, they get it spot on. But take a short wander off the beaten track and you’ll find yourself – well, in an even more magical spot. Bubbling fountains and the odd pair of ducks going about their daily business make this secret garden just off Queen’s Drive feel like a hub of activity. Of course, that soothing leafy smell and array of benches also mean it's the ultimate oasis of calm for students in an essay panic. Visit the Reed Hall website to book onto their next Gardens Tour (7 September, £5pp) or simply hike up Streatham Drive to check this leafy wonderland out for yourself. We reckon it’d be just as stunning in the rain (as long as you don’t mind getting your shoes a little muddy!) #ReedHall #UniversityOfExeter #UniofExeter #Exeter #SouthWest #Devon #Kompas #KompasExeter #StreathamCampus #ExeterUniversity #ReedHallGardens #Pond #Fountain #SecretGarden #Picturesque #HiddenGarden #Oasis #BritishSummer #SummerInDevon #VisitDevon #Garden #WaterFeature
