Ankerklause

Hidden Berlin Instagram feed and Facebook feed (17 January 2016)

If you translate “Ankerklause” literally, you get something like “Anchor Den.” Sounds like a place to burrow yourself away amongst maritime memorabilia and sit out the vicious Berlin winter. Perhaps an evening at Ankerklause is a bit like being snuggled up in a submarine at the bottom of the ocean – but with a ready supply of toasties, nachos, chicken wings, fish & chips and potato salad. Mm. We think we’d like that. …that was just the all-day snack menu, by the way. For some more substantial treats at Kreuzberg’s most seaworthy bar and restaurant, check out the haul on the day menu (10am-3pm) and the evening menu (4pm-11pm). Veggie and vegan options are readily at hand – pumpkin-chickpea balls, anyone? – but if you’d rather tuck into a hearty €6.50 cheeseburger with potato twisters, or even an all-day Mexican breakfast, the crew here’ll have you feeling shipshape in no time. For a fun, inexpensive treat with more than a touch of nautical twist, it’s well worth docking up at Ankerklause. #Ankerklause #KottbusserDamm #Kreuzberg #HiddenBerlin #SnackBar #Berlin #Toastie #Nautical #FishandChips #NauticalTheme #LandwehrKanal #Maritime #lecker #tasty #BerlinFood #BerlinFoodie #Bar #Restaurant #Quirky #Berlinstagram #AllDayBreakfast
