Volkspark Friedrichshain

Berlin’s oldest public park, the 52-acre Volkspark Friedrichshain is a breathtaking escape all year round. Entering from Am Friedrichshain, this looks like any other urban recreation ground. Well, it’s slightly cooler than your average park – with barbecues and volleyball courts creating a fun, chilled vibe in the summer, and kitted-up joggers circling the park in the cooler months. But after some exploring, you’ll come to a series of shaded walkways. Here, amongst the fresh forest smells and foliage, you’d be forgiven for thinking you’re in a country park. And the reward for your uphill hike? A beautiful secluded hilltop garden. Further along, Restaurant Schoenbrunn offers tasty meals and snacks – from English breakfasts to schnitzel and apple strudel, and a more luxurious evening menu including veal and seabass. Meanwhile, Schoenbrunn Garden serves a range of pizzas, pastas and salads to be enjoyed with a cool beer or warm drink. With all this in sight of the park’s stunning swan pond and water fountain, Volkspark Friedrichshain is an urban oasis just waiting to be explored – whatever the season. #VolksparkFriedrichshain #Berlin #Friedrichshain #HiddenBerlin #PublicPark #RunningInBerlin #Jogging #Fitness #Outdoors #GreatOutdoors #Berlinstagram #BerlinIgers #IgersBerlin #WinterInBerlin #Trees #Volkspark #volksparkfhain
