Babel

Hidden Berlin Instagram feed (1 October 2015)

The title of “best kebab place in Berlin” is fiercely sought-after. But Babel Lebanese restaurant and takeaway could just about steal the crown. On Prenzlauer Berg’s bustling Kastanienallee, Babel is marked out by its fresh flowers, hungry crowds and mouth-watering smells. The most popular lunches are probably the warm filled wraps. Whether you opt for the shawarma, falafel, halloumi or a mix, these wraps arrive full to bursting with flavour and spice. They have a brilliantly fresh taste, while the blend of sauces gives this lunchtime treat a fantastic kick. At only €4 a wrap (€5 if you want additional fillings) you get plenty for your money. Babel also serves up shawarma, falafel, hummus and vegetable platters, while for sweet-toothed diners, the restaurant’s baklava is also well worth a try. Either take a seat inside or squeeze onto one of the outdoor benches amongst the flowers. Of course, you can also get your wrap to take away and enjoy in nearby Mauerpark.
