Monkey Bar

Hidden Berlin Instagram feed (16 August 2015)

The crown jewel of Berlin’s 25hours Hotel, Monkey Bar offers panoramic views of the city, with stunning terracing and floor-length windows. Softly lit with exotic lanterns, the room’s sofas and rustic tables provide a comfy niche for anyone. With bar snacks including a three-tier hummus selection and more sweet potato fries than you can shake a salt cellar at, Monkey Bar doesn’t disappoint for a spontaneous night of food and drink. At around €10-14, the cocktails are pricy – but they don’t hold back on the alcohol. “It’s very strong,” the waiter may warn, if you plump for the Mai Tai – and he’s not joking. It’s certainly an intriguingly selection of cocktails. Green apple gin with red pepper? Spicy ginger lemonade? Or a chocolate spirit? Whatever flavours you’re craving, Monkey Bar has something to suit. A night here is an extravagant one, perhaps – but not one you’ll forget in a hurry.
